A road-legal Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is at Goodwood Festival of Speed
One of the first road-legal Lamborghini Sesto Elementos was spotted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We had reported about this car more than a year ago, and since then, its whereabouts have been unknown.
Introduced in 2011, the Sesto Elemento is a special edition track car based on the Gallardo. Initially, Lamborghini planned to build 20 units but ended up producing only 10 cars, with no plans for a road-legal version.
The Sesto Elemento is based on a forged carbon fibre chassis with carbon composite plastic developed in partnership with Boeing. It rides on forged carbon suspension and weighs just 999 kg.
The 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine was borrowed from the Gallardo Superleggera. It produces 562 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque that is sent to all four wheels via a carbon fibre drive shaft. Lamborghini claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 221 mph.
